A circus clown has 16 balloons. One half of the balloons are red. Half of the remaining balloons are blue. The rest are yellow.

I noticed that the clown has 16 balloons and 1/2 of the balloons are red and the other half are blue and the remaining are yellow. This problem does not make sense to me unless im not reading it correctly. I’m wondering how you can have two halfs and then some left over. Two halfs make a whole, so I’m not sure where the extra yellow balloons are coming from. Unless they meant to say the number of red and blue are equal then the rest are yellow, this would make more sense.
