World Year of Physics 2005

POSTER AND PROJECT COMPETITIONS

The American Statistical Association's Center for Statistics
Education encourages teachers to participate in its annual
Poster Competition and Project Competition.
Committees of distinguished statisticians and dedicated
teachers of statistics in Cleveland, OH, and Lincoln, NE,
meet in May each year to evaluate entries. The deadline for
both contests is April 15.
Winners receive cash awards and ASA certificates for their
efforts.

iLumina is a digital library of sharable undergraduate
teaching materials for chemistry, biology, physics,
mathematics, and computer science.
These resources range in type from highly granular objects,
such as individual images and video clips, to entire courses.
Resources in iLumina are cataloged in the MARC and NSDL
metadata formats, which capture both technical and
education-specific information about each resource. iLumina
contains thousands of educational resources and several
virtual collections.
Users are invited to contribute resources to iLumina by
following the contribute link in the header.

WORLD YEAR OF PHYSICS 2005

The World Year of Physics 2005 is an international
celebration of physics. Endorsed by the United Nations,
WYP 2005's year-long events will highlight the vitality of
physics and its importance in the coming millennium, and will
commemorate the pioneering contributions of Albert Einstein
in 1905. Through the efforts of a worldwide collaboration of
scientific societies, the World Year of Physics brings the
excitement of physics to the public and will inspire a new
generation of scientists.
