Presidential Awards for Excellence in Math and Science Teaching

The Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics Teaching are the nation's highest honor for teachers of mathematics. The Awards recognize exemplary K-12 teachers for their contributions in the classroom and to their profession.
Principals, teachers, students, parents, members of the community, or the general public may nominate a teacher. Self-nominations are not accepted.
Once nominated, a teacher must complete an application to be considered for the award. The application includes a videotaped lesson and written responses to questions about the teacher's instructional practice.

Macintosh OS X users familiar with Dashboard use its mini-applications to perform common tasks and get fast access to information. The Sudoku Widget by Brian DeBoer generates random puzzles with four different levels of difficulty, has the option to show when you have entered an incorrect answer, allows for "pencil" marks for temporary numbers, times your games so you can see how much better (or worse) you are getting, keeps track of high scores, allows for blank puzzles and more.
