Presidential Awards for Excellence in Math and Science Teaching
The Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics Teaching are the nation's highest honor for teachers of mathematics. The Awards recognize exemplary K-12 teachers for their contributions in the classroom and to their profession.
Principals, teachers, students, parents, members of the community, or the general public may nominate a teacher. Self-nominations are not accepted.
Once nominated, a teacher must complete an application to be considered for the award. The application includes a videotaped lesson and written responses to questions about the teacher's instructional practice.

Elementary (K-6) Teachers
Deadline: May 1, 2006
Secondary (7-12) Teachers
Deadline: May 7, 2007

ON-Math, a peer-reviewed journal from the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM), launched on September 1, 2002, and until recently was available only to NCTM subscribers.
