Presidential Awards for Excellence in Math and Science Teaching

The Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics Teaching are the nation's highest honor for teachers of mathematics. The Awards recognize exemplary K-12 teachers for their contributions in the classroom and to their profession.

Principals, teachers, students, parents, members of the community, or the general public may nominate a teacher. Self-nominations are not accepted.

Once nominated, a teacher must complete an application to be considered for the award. The application includes a videotaped lesson and written responses to questions about the teacher's instructional practice.

Upcoming application deadlines:

2006 Elementary (K-6) Teachers Deadline: May 1, 2006
2007 Secondary (7-12) Teachers Deadline: May 7, 2007
