conjunction with the NASA Dryden Flight Research Center.

Projects designed to help students understand statistics 
by analyzing real data and interacting with graphical 
demonstrations of statistical concepts. 

Each Web chapter provides a set of simulations, demonstrations, 
and other activities to supplement Elementary Statistics, 
a textbook by Neil Weiss that introduces statistics through 
a streamlined approach to probability designed to prepare 
students for more advanced topics. Projects include these 
and many more: 

 - The Titanic Disaster
 - Infant Mortality
 - Old Faithful Geyser and a Survey of Wages
 - The Space Shuttle Challenger

about the Securities Industry Association Stock Market Game,
and an Inflation Calculator ("What will a movie ticket cost 
in 20 years?"). 

Developed by Merrill Lynch, with some materials by the Bank 
Street College of Education and the Wall Street Journal 
Classroom Edition.
