SUPPORT THE MATH FORUM @ DREXEL
We are now accepting donations online and by mail from
members of the web community. Giving to the Math Forum
allows us to continue offering resources, materials,
activities, person-to-person interactions, and educational
services that enrich and support learning. We have put
donation links on many pages around the site so that it's
easy to make a contribution if you are interested.

Adam Brown, who goes by the name "The Ostrich," displays the
results of his computer programs, which generate fractal
landscape and landscape rendering. His pages include
About: illustrated explanation of the fractal
landscapes project
Images: gallery of "best" images
Images 2: gallery of other computer generated images

POLY 1.09 - Jeff Tupper
http://www.peda.com/poly/
Jeff Tupper has recently announced an update to Poly, a
shareware program for exploring and constructing polyhedra.
With Poly, you can manipulate polyhedral solids on the
computer in a variety of ways. Flattened versions (nets) of
polyhedra may be printed and then cut out, folded, and taped,
to produce three-dimensional models.
For a list of the polyhedra included, please see:
http://www.peda.com/poly/poly.html
New features include:
- Polish and Italian interfaces
- JIF export
If the polyhedron is moving or changing, an animated
JIF is exported; otherwise, a static JIF is exported
- PCX export
- Geodesic spheres and domes
All of the deltahedra currently included have been
added to a new deltahedra category
- Available Polyhedron Categories preference controls
Also available in an updated version is Poly Pro 1.09

CLASS2CLASS - The Math Forum
http://mathforum.org/class2class/
Class2Class, a service created by Melanie Sprouse and hosted
by the Math Forum, connects distant math classrooms in
collaborations such as data-collecting experiments, taking
advantage of one of the powerful features of the Internet:
connecting people and information at a distance.
COMMON CENTS
A Pooled Data Analysis Project
http://mathforum.org/class2class/view.taco?class_id=74
The goal is to collect and share data with other classes.
Ever think about how many pennies are in circulation? How
long they last? Classes will organize and count coins by
date. The data will be shared and each class gets experience
graphing, looking at variability and central tendencies.
Common Cents is a project you can do with a set of pennies
or really any coin.
