Teachers and developers met in Swarthmore, PA the week of August 14 through 18 for their second annual summer workshop, hosted by the Math Forum. The Educational Software Components of Tomorrow (ESCOT) project explores a promising direction for innovation: assembling math education software from components rather than hand-crafting new programs or applications for each curricular need.

The goals of the workshop were:
  1. to review last year's work including reports from the Authoring Advisory Board, Math Forum, and evaluation component of ESCOT.
  2. to form design teams and develop ePoW's for the upcoming school year.
  3. to discuss new goals and opportunities for ESCOT.
