Concerning the Münchhausen trilemma, the Eudoxus
Real Numbers have the nice appeal, that they even
do without rational numbers,

their bootstrapping is:

reals
/ \
integer functions (Eudoxus)

From the papar:

"However, unlike the Dedekind construction,
the construction proceeds directly from the
integers to the real numbers bypassing the
intermediate construction of the
rational numbers."
