now, was it mainly TeX which increased accessability ? or advance of computers and internet and ejournals ? You can't well compare with the past in a field of such fast progressing. Compare with the availability of papers in other scientific areas.

to my experience, most people won't do this. I.e. not for problems of small importance . These are less important but arise more frequently.

maybe easily to each other _mathematician_. To others it's not so easy.

that may well be the case. (Although I'm not searching for beauty in appearance of math-papers) Maybe it's easier with UNIX , maybe I was just unlucky with some rare problems , maybe I overestimated the installing/learning process.
I don't want to go back , but I still think , and mentioned already several times , that I want to be able to download both , TeX and ASCII. Or alternatively a good TeX2asci.exe . Maybe I should had chosen "save ASCII" or such as subject line. I suggested in another post or email to simply attach the ASCII-version to the .ps or .tex such that the reader ignores them , but the editor can delete the first part.
