On December 17, I quoted in full the post by L. Andrew Campbell
which is quoted in part below (the quoted part being Campbell's
quotation of e-mail to him from Arno van den Essen).

Moh has just posted 2 pages of comments to the arXiv; they make
entertaining reading for those who are interested in the checkered
history of this problem.
