The real problem is the so-called Constructivists who have
specialized the language to mean something artificially specific. Of
course students' brains have to construct meaning; we are no closer
to "downloading" from one brain to another than we were before the
word was coined. The problem is to conclude from that correct
assumption that knowledgeable teachers and good teaching are asleep
not critically important in that process for nearly all students.

Incidentally, we have been passing along a misspelling of Lisa Suben's name.
