Here's how I'm spinning Climatology at the Pauling House (where a lot of us congregate, including Cal Tech alums):

To those who couldn't make it yesterday, I highly recommend poking around in this picture pile for the Jon Bunce sculpture of some n-dimensional shape reduced to 3D by Sherpa Design, milled in "urethane" so ultra-dense that Steve Mastin was amazed.
I had a good meeting with systems science students in the PSU program, exploring my latest views about climate change (already discussed here), to wit:
We could all be watching the temperature gauge while, meanwhile, particulate plastics in the ocean are clogging the food chain and we flush ourselves down the toilet by strangling in our own trash, poetic justice and all that (not everyone equally guilty, so some final judgment day planned). I.e. just focusing on global temperature (e.g. "warming") is like a pilot flying blind just staring at one instrument, never mind about those silly mountains.
