While I think I know what the New Math was, and knew that Dolciani had written high school textbooks which I had always associated with the New Math---but had never had the occasion actually to see.
I was very surprised by the following in the article in Wikipedia.

If that is indeed the case, then I owe a huge apology to Rosa.
