Recently, I have seen the following TV ads by ExxonMobil:
1. An ad complaining that the U.S. ranks 25th in Math.
2. An ad promoting more AP classes.
3. An ad about a whole slew of math/science teachers who are being trained.

Some of these ads asked viewers to visit

I would like to point that, starting in 1989, ExxonMobil provided extensive funding for the promotion of "math reform" and assorted "standards"--a campaign that has been an abject failure. There is every reason to believe that ExxonMobil's additional hundreds of millions will end up funding another abject failure.
