Subject: Geometry Cartoons by Russell Towle

Russell Towle was a talented geometer who made a lot of
great cartoons (mathcasts) about what he learned. Among
his favorite tools: POV-Ray, a free ray tracing program,
and Wolfram's Mathematica.

I was not a close associate of Russell's, but count myself
an admirer. The blog post below recounts ways we
overlapped plus links into his stash of colorful Youtubes
about zonohedra, tiling, symmetry and so forth, many of
them set to music.

Russell is also a role model in the sense that he combined
has geometrical studies with a rugged outdoor lifestyle,
very connected to his land and community. Great going!
