Help!!!! This was my first year using Investigations with my 1st and 2nd grade special needs class (22nd year of teaching). I have no aide to support me when teaching. My question is has anyone else tried to teach two grades of Investigations? I'd like to know how you are able to observe student strategies during independent practice with Choice Time Activities while simultaneously teaching the other grade. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Also, since many of the activities are "story problems" later on in the 2nd grade ...how do you handle the children that can't read them while trying to teach the other group?
