The set of short notes titled Mathemagical Forests at http://tcjpn.spaces.live.com/
discusses some elementary connections between rooted trees, derivative
operators, Lagrange inversion, the Legendre transformation, the Faa di
Bruno formula, Sheffer sequences and umbral calculus, and the infinite
Witt Lie-algebra. Along the way, it illustrates the utility of the
Online Encyclopedia of Integer Sequences in exploring the
interconnectedness of diverse areas of mathematics.
