Hi :)

I was wondering if anyone could help me with calculating the motion magnitude between video frames. I have downloaded one function from here (fastMV.m), and have all the motion vectors calculated. Also returned by the function is rep_motion, which is a 1X2 column vector. I don't fully understand what the rep_motion is, but I reckon it might be an overall average of the motion vectors?

Anyway, I am actually interested to plot a graph... of motion activity against time. But I am not sure how to obtain the average (or representative) motion activity (is it same as motion magnitude?) from the motion vector calculations. Can anyone be of assitance?

Any help is much appreciated! Thanks! :D
