distributive property

How about if students solved the equation that involved distributive property twice. What if they distributed correctly once and incorrectly the second time...conceptual or computational? one point deduction or two? What did other schools do...just curious? In other words, can you make a case for the second time (or the first time, for that matter...I saw it both ways) being a computational error? Liz
