EPS files and BoundingBoxes?

When generating eps files using the print -deps 'file.eps' - command
I always get the BoundingBox values:

%%BoundingBox: 017 180 593 611

Changing the gcf 'position' values does not seems
to make any difference.

So, is there a way to change the boundingbox values using matlab
commands or do I have to do this by editing the eps file?

(Or, how do I shrink the graph without having a lot of space around
it?)

(I'm using matlab 4.0 (windows 3.1) and trying to import graphics into
a LaTeX and Word document using the original size generated by malab.)

Thanks in advance!
