PoW taking place: math problem-solving moment of the week
"I discovered I could flip and rotate the small triangles. It helped me very much because I was having trouble with the parallelogram! I did not like the parallelogram! I think I liked this problem. It made me feel like I was learning Geometry. When I'm at home I'm going to add the Virtual Tangrams site to favorites. I also learned how to spell parallelogram."
- Logan, highlighted in the FunPoW's latest solution

STELLA V5.0
http://www.software3d.com/History.php
Robert Webb has recently updated Stella, his software for creating polyhedra and printing out their nets.
This major release features slideshow tours, the ability to create convex hulls of 3D folding nets, dozens of improvements to measurement and navigation, and animated transitions between polyhedra: as you step through them, each one will fly off the screen as the next one flies into place.

Now taking place: math education conversation of the day
"I am gathering a number of the things I used with classes over the years, and updating them in Sketchpad Java and/or GeoGebra. Feel free to use, borrow, or steal anything." - Dave, posted to the secondary (grades 9-12) discussion group of the Association of Math Teachers of New York State
