Thank you. Why doesn't the ArgMax function find the mode?

Mode of InverseChiSquareDistribution

D is a reserved word and cannot be used for a variable name. The mode
is the value of x for which the derivative of the PDF is zero.

dist = InverseChiSquareDistribution[d - 1];

mode = x /. Solve[
Simplify[
D[PDF[dist, x], x] == 0,
x > 0],
x][[1]]

1/(1 + d)
