Thank you. Why doesn't the ArgMax function find the mode?

dist = InverseChiSquareDistribution[d  1];
mode = x /. Solve[ Simplify[ D[PDF[dist, x], x] == 0, x > 0], x][[1]]
1/(1 + d)
