Linear and semilog axes on one plot

I have a single time-series dataset. I want to make a plot with two y-axes for a single dataset. One y-axis would show a linear scale (i.e., [1:10]) while the other axes would show a log scale (i.e., [log2(1):log2(10)]). Tick intervals are unimportant.

I've tried plotyy and addaxis_unit posted on Mathworks with little success. Is there a simple way to plot(x,y) and then show a second y-axis based on a logarithmically scaled version of y?

Thanks!
