Thanks Joe.

My point is China appears intent on re-writing history to claim it really created our current base ten positional system, complete with zero.

The Chinese media people spoon fed Nature with a graphic of a misleading multiplication table with zeros and called it a 'translation' rather than a modern day interpretation.

As journalists, Nature should have pointed out to readers that zero as a number, did not exist in China at the time these bamboo rods were created.

I will however, give Nature some credit for letting me make this point online at http://www.nature.com/news/ancient-times-table-hidden-in-chinese-bamboo-strips-1.14482
