So, How's it going everyone? We made it through Module 1...64 lessons with assessments vs their 34 plus assessments...mod 2 is quite a challenge, especially with the higher level of advanced proof...we're following the order of the modules but obviously writing our own version....it's fun but quite a load of work. Thank goodness we have GSP for diagrams, the transformation options are awesome for creating problems. Designing tests and quizzes is very time consuming but fun. We're not using a book as there is nothing even close to what is in the modules. After teaching Geometry for 37 years this is quit a shift, but not as bad as it seemed at the start. It's too bad we don't have more time, and mods 4 & 5.....if I had to do it over again I may have waited another year to implement CC. I guess my biggest issue with the modules is the casual way they throw things in assuming kids will pick them right up....like addition and subtraction of segments and angles in a proof, or!
proofs involving parallelograms and all that go with it. I guess that's why we went way over in time for Module 1. We figure if we work the rest of the summer and 2 days a week after school plus Saturdays we can do it. Too bad we can't get paid, but we really don't have any choice. I'm surprised I'm not reading about anyone else's experiences. Happy Summer...Ron
