Duties: Teaches fifteen contact hours of mathematics from developmental
level through Calculus. Advises students on academic and career choices.
Participates in college governance committees. Participates in job-related
community activities. Develops/revises curriculum in math courses. Works
closely with other faculty at the National Campus and at the State Campuses
in maintaining high quality of math instruction.
Minimum qualifications: Masters in Mathematics or Math Education or related
technical with at least 18 graduate credits (semester) in teaching field.
Training in teaching economically disadvantaged and academically poorly
prepared students preferred. Training in teaching ESL student preferred.
Full-time teaching at the post-secondary level for two years preferred.
Teaching disadvantaged and under-prepared students in an ESL environment for
at least two years preferred. Ability to apply AMATYC Crossroads standards
in teaching mathematics preferred.
