In addition to Standards about mathematical content, we hope to describe how student thinking in key mathematical areas might evolve over grades preK-12--so-called process Standards. As with the content Standards, each Standard will include a description of key ideas, along with the developmental "trajectory" the ideas should take across the grades, given our current knowledge of students' learning.
What are the major areas of student thinking that the writers should focus on from preK-12? For example, might proof and reasoning be considered as such a major area? What other major areas might be useful?
