Personally, I didn't have to be lectured into algebra. When I was finally
introduced to Algebra after all those awful years of arithmetic, I was more
than happy to sit in the back of the class reading the book, working on
problems and ignoring the teacher. Luckily I had a teacher who let me figure
the stuff out for myself, and I have loved algebra ever since.
Isn't it amazing how many different ways people learn things?
