i think we can be more than a little hard on kids when we (as teachers)
complain about their not listening. when WE are in an audience does each
one of us not recognize moments when we're not listening. so wwhen we're
teaching, surely at ANY given moment, some student(s) are bound not to be
listening. i just hope the stuff i'm teaching is interesting enough for
them to come back in. and if they're willing to let me know they missed
something, i certainly am not going to put them down, even when i've just
repeated myuself three times! or more. my role is to help them learn, etc.
etc. i'll get off the soap box.
