Flatland

I have heard much said about the use of the book "Flatland" in the context of a Geometry class. I am interested in the idea of using it. I would be very interested in knowing:
1) In what ways has this book been used? i.e. Why should if have my students read it? (Just a fun book to read, part of a particular instructional unit, extra credit project,...)
2) What are some particular focuses for the student? (What are some key questions to ask students to consider as they read it?)
3) What kinds of post reading assesments have been used, and which have worked particularly well?
Thanks in advance.
