Are There Numbers Greater than Infinity?Date: 10/23/95 at 15:55:26 From: Susan Yant Are there any numbers past infinity ? Michelle Von Minden Date: 11/5/95 at 15:37:26 From: Doctor Jeremy Well, infinity isn't really a number. If you're counting something and you never reach the end, that's infinity. But you can't treat infinity as a number. The tricks that work with numbers don't always work with infinity. You can say that every number comes before infinity, since you can count up to it. So in that way there are no numbers past infinity. -Doctor Jeremy, The Geometry Forum |
