| The Interactive Mathematics Program (IMP, 1994) is a project designed to implement change in the high school mathematics curriculum. This paper describes how the project began, what it intends to do, and what pedagogical problems it addresses. A specific unit is analyzed for theme, structure, and mathematical content. The advantages the IMP offers teachers are discussed throughout the first several pages. The paper concludes by discussing some of the disadvantages of the project as well as some of the results of evaluations of the project. | |
