| On-line meteorological activities open to international schools. The site provides access to Australian weather observations, forecasts, and archived weather statistics, with information designed to educate the general public about weather and related issues, for example the El Niño effect. It offers easily understood, factual explanations of weather phenomena and the statistic gathering process, with simple definitions for common climate terms and discussions of other weather phenomena such as cyclones, severe storms, and global weather change. Student activity occurs during March-May. Includes a newsletter, "Meteorology in the Classroom," classroom discovery activities, and Weather Data Activities, exploring the use of spreadsheets for graphing data on the computer. | |
