NCTM San Diego
Presentation Summary

This is the summary of a presentation given at the 74th Annual NCTM Meeting, 25-28 April 1996, San Diego, CA.

Geometry builds bridges between our environment, our aesthetics and our mathematical sense. This workshop will involve participants in hands-on geometry experiences which connect community, culture and mathematics. Activities will be consistent with NCTM standards of communication, connections, problem solving and patterns. There will be an integration of mathematics with literature and social sciences. Participants will learn how to look at their own environments in order to find meaningful activities for their students.Susan S. Benjamin (Los Alamos Schools, Los Alamos, NM)
