| Description: |
A teaching unit on fractals for students and teachers in grades 4 to 8, that adults are free to enjoy, designed to introduce students to fractals and the underlying mathematics. It focuses on fractals generated by iterating line drawings, such as the Sierpinski Triangle, Koch snowflake and so-called "Jurassic Park" fractal. The lessons include descriptions of the fractals and the math involved, Java applets that let students step through the iteration process, teacher notes, and more. Alternative assessment methods are suggested. |
