Review based on:
I found it from Math Tools email of the Newsletter. I'd like to recommend to students I tutor and to teachers I mentor.
introduction to a concept, practice of skills and understandings, applications of a concept or technique
I would like this much better without the "cross multiplication" explanation in the math section. The activity has the potential to allow students to discover the true meaning of proportion. Suggestion: It is easy to get too many by accident on the way back home. This could be an advantage in making it more challenging for students to strategize and navigate, or it could be frustrating to some. Perhaps an option of allowing the ameba to spit out some would meet the needs of a wider range of students.
