Subject:   consider middle schoolers?

What if you are a middle school student or maybe even in 5th grade and you are
just developing your understanding of variables  and algebraic reasoning? Do you
think that a student at that mathematical level could easily solve the
paper/pencil version of the problem? How might the applet help? or would it
hinder?
