Subject:   Continuity applet
Author: Chuck
Date: Sep 15 2003
There has been a very interesting discussion on the AP Calculus forum about the
definition of continuity.  The discussion began with the perennial question “is
a curve consisting of a single point continuous at that point?”  The
delta-epsilon definition of continuity might be better at handling this issue
than the limit definition.  Numerous respected calculus teachers have offered
opinions.  If you want to illustrate the delta-epsilon definition, then you
might be interested in the following applets.

In the past couple of years a few of my students have revealed that they are
mathematicians at heart by their interest in this “epsilonation.”
