I teach at a private school which does not follow any state or district
curriculum nor give New York State Regents exams.  Teachers have a great deal of
curriculum discretion.
At local conferences of profesional oranizations, public school teachers are
loaded with ideas on how accomplish their district requirements in creative
ways.  So networking at professional meetings seems a good idea.  Web discussion
groups are also helpful.
