Description: 
Activities designed to introduce fractions in a conceptbuilding way, together with a page for teachers with implementation ideas and standards links. The activities can be done on computers with Internet access and/or with square grid paper printed out and used along with the electronic images. On the "More Practice" pages, students color online on a square grid. Exercises are checked online, and teachers can record the results. Practice answers are hidden under a tab so that students can easily check their answers. A Spanish version can be accessed at http://math.rice.edu/~lanius/fractions/spindex.html

Comment:  I like the way this program introduces fractions, uses terms other than shaded or unshaded, gives practice in determining fractions as part of a group, and the immediate feedback the students receive.
