Description: A web page and interactive applet illustrate the Central Angle Theorem (an arc subtends twice the angle at the center as at the circumference). By dragging the key points with the mouse, students can observe that the theorem holds for all arcs and points on the circumference. Text on the page explains the theorem and notes an exception where it does not hold, which can also be set up in the applet. Applet can be enlarged to full screen size for use with a classroom projector. After use in the classroom, student can access it again from any web browser at home or in the library with no login required. This resource is a component of the Math Open Reference Interactive Geometry textbook project at http://www.mathopenref.com.
