The Math Forum's Problems of the Week are designed to provide creative, non-routine challenges for students in grades three through twelve. Problem-solving and mathematical communication are key elements of every problem.

During the 1998-99 school year, more than 18,500 students submitted solutions to the Problems of the Week. Students who were consistent in submitting excellent solutions throughout the year have earned places on our "Top Students" lists.

Over 4,500 schools participated during the 1998-99 school year. The schools with the highest number of correct submissions have been honored with places on the "School Awards" pages.
