Welcome to the PoW-TER Home Page!

The PoW-TER project has four primary objectives:

  1. to create a flexible set of instructional modules that can be used as supplementary course resources in any mathematics content or pedagogy course taken by future teachers
  2. to engage practicing teachers and other math educators in the development of these resources
  3. to understand how interactions focusing on analysis of student thinking and instruction that places student understanding and problem solving at the core of instructional decision making can affect the instructional beliefs and practices of school and university instructors
  4. to refine the process through which the instructional modules will be developed and utilized
