However, mental math experts will tell you that this is how they computer numbers (from left to right). There are countless children who are labeled as "learning disabled" because they cannot grasp right to left mathematics - and no one is willing to work with them to help them learn math the natural way. It would appear that you, the teacher, are "learning disabled" since you find this method of math so confusing. It is a shame that children are forced to wear a label based on the inadequacies of their teachers.
