Subject: Forgiving Method/Partial Quotient Method of Division

My son has brought home some division problems.  He needs to solve the
problems using the forgiving method.  My son cannot remember how to do the
problems using this method.  Could you please explain how to answer a
division problem using this method?  Thank you.
