Caroline Brennan and her sister, Joanna Yantosh, were participants in a 1993 Geometry Forum Workshop. Since then Caroline and Joanna have been busy integrating the use of the Internet into their classrooms at their school, Drexel Hill School of the Holy Child in suburban Philadelphia. They began with an Internet math and communications project in which students in grades 4-7 communicated about math with student teachers from Iowa. It was a very successful project for all involved and a story about it was recently published on the Web in Tales from the Electronic Frontier.
Caroline and Joanna have taken several on-line math courses offered by Bank Street College of Education. Bank Street came to Holy Child to do some filming and segments were used for an on-line training video. Caroline's students have used the New York Stock Exchange to collect data on the stock market, and some eighth grade students even played the Taking Stock, a stock market game, on-line. Caroline and Joanna have spoken about their uses of technology in the classroom at Germantown Academy, The National Catholic Education Association, and the Milton Hershey School.
